Lots, pips and leverage in simple words

Pip

The smallest price step. If EUR/USD rises from 1.0850 to 1.0851, that is 1 pip. For gold and crypto the move is measured in price dollars: gold from 2650 to 2655 is a $5 move.

Lot

The lot is the size of your trade. The bigger the lot, the more each pip is worth:

  • 0.01 lot — about $0.10 per pip on EUR/USD;
  • 0.10 lot — about $1 per pip;
  • 1.00 lot — about $10 per pip.

Leverage

Leverage lets you open a position bigger than your deposit. At 1:100, $100 controls a $10,000 position. Leverage increases profit and loss equally.

You don't need to calculate the lot by hand: under every signal in the bot there is a «🧮 Lot» button — choose your balance and risk, and the bot shows the exact lot.
