TRON (TRX) - TRXUSDT

Tron's native token, traded against USDT. Known for high stablecoin transfer activity.

0.321310.31985

TRX is the native token of the Tron blockchain. It pays network fees and supports smart contracts. Traders watch it for moves tied to the wider crypto market and to activity on the Tron network.

🕐 Active hours: 24/7. Most active 13:00-17:00 UTC (US and EU overlap) and around 00:00-03:00 UTC (Asia open).

📜 History

Justin Sun launched Tron in 2017. TRX was first sold as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum in a token sale in mid-2017. In May 2018 Tron moved to its own mainnet, and TRX became native to that chain. The project aimed to build a decentralised internet for content sharing. In 2018 Tron agreed to acquire BitTorrent, and the deal completed in early 2019. The 2018 crypto bear market hit TRX hard, as it did most altcoins. In March 2023 the US SEC sued Justin Sun and Tron-linked foundations, and the case drew wide attention.

⚙️ What moves the price

  • Bitcoin and the wider crypto market. TRX often moves with the sector in risk-on and risk-off phases.
  • Stablecoin flows. Large USDT volumes move on the Tron network, which can affect network activity and demand for TRX.
  • US interest rates and dollar liquidity. Rate expectations shift appetite for risky assets like crypto.
  • Regulatory news. The SEC case and other legal or exchange actions can cause sharp moves.
  • Exchange listings, delistings and network upgrades. Changes in access or protocol can shift volume and sentiment.

Character

  • High volatility. Daily moves are often larger than those of Bitcoin and Ethereum.
  • News-driven spikes. Sudden jumps and drops often follow announcements and rumours.
  • Trades 24/7. Liquidity can thin out on weekends and during off-peak hours.
  • Often follows altcoin sentiment. Strength or weakness in the market can lift or pull it.

When to trade

  • Active US and European hours, roughly 13:00 to 17:00 UTC, when liquidity is usually deeper.
  • Around major macro releases such as US inflation data or rate decisions, when crypto volumes rise.
  • When the Bitcoin trend and volume are clear, so the wider direction is easier to read.

When not to trade

  • Thin weekend and late-night hours, when spreads widen and price can gap.
  • Right after sudden news spikes, when moves often reverse quickly.
  • Using high leverage on a volatile token. Large swings can trigger liquidations fast.
