Choice's 2026 Shonky awards name Australia's worst products and services
Consumer advocacy group Choice has announced its annual Shonky awards, which highlight what it considers Australia's worst products and services of the year. This year's list includes concert tickets that rose to $1,650 and an airline that kept $75m in unused Virgin flight credits. A washer/dryer with a cycle that takes 25 hours also made the list. The awards, now in their 21st year, are decided by Choice.
📊 What it means for markets
Consumer awards like this usually have little direct effect on markets such as gold, oil, USD, EUR, stocks or crypto. They may draw attention to pricing and consumer protection issues in Australia, but no clear market impact is expected.
