Joshua Wong sentenced to 10 years in Hong Kong national security case
Hong Kong pro-democracy activist Joshua Wong, 30, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty in September to foreign collusion. It is his second conviction under the national security law, which critics say has been used to silence political opposition. Wong has been imprisoned since 2020. He rose to prominence as the teenage face of Hong Kong's 2014 pro-democracy demonstrations. He had been accused of working with exiled activist Nathan Law.
