Ireland says bomb threats to European flights likely a coordinated campaign
The Irish government has issued a statement on the latest bomb threats against flights in Europe, saying they are likely a coordinated campaign of disruption. Some Irish media organisations have also received similar threats. A Tarom flight from Prague to Bucharest, operating as ROT226M, is the latest flight believed to be affected. The aircraft sent squawk code 7700, the general emergency code, and landed safely in Bucharest. The threat was later confirmed to be unproven.
📊 What it means for markets
Threats like these usually cause short-term delays, diversions and higher security costs for airlines and airports, which may weigh on airline and travel stocks. Gold, oil, USD, EUR and crypto are often little affected unless disruption escalates.
